There’s a great programme of shows lined up at the theatre in the coming weeks and months, with something for all tastes. Here’s just a selection of what’s coming up, but the full line up is available at www.tamworthassemblyrooms.co.uk.

Ballet Theatre UK is returning to Tamworth after their hit performance of The Wizard of Oz in January. They will be back on April 16 with a beautiful performance of Giselle. The tragically romantic tale, first performed in 1841, is set to impress audiences, and would make the perfect gift this Mother’s Day. Tickets are £17.50, £15.50 concessions and £10 for 16 and under.

If the ballet isn’t for you, join Lesley Garrett, Britain’s most popular soprano for an evening of song, reminiscences and chat on May 1. Accompanied by, and in conversation with, Anna Tilbrook, Lesley’s behind the scenes stories and anecdotes will give audiences a unique insight into her life on the stage. Tickets for Lesley Garrett: A Diva and a Piano are priced at £23.

On May 17, Tamworth Assembly Rooms is hosting the UK’s biggest celebration of Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble in Swing Town on May 17. These two spectacular tributes will take you and your mum down memory lane as they perform chart-topping swing hits accompanied by a 12-piece line-up. Live brass performances, duets, banter and audience interaction are set to make this show one you won’t forget. Tickets are £23.50.

This summer, there’s one for all George Michael fans. The world’s largest George Michael celebration, Fast Love, will be coming to Tamworth Assembly Rooms on July 17.

Mothers everywhere are guaranteed to love the show which celebrates George Michael, encompassing the music, life and the man himself. Coming from London’s West End, and bringing all the classics, including I’m Your Man, Freedom 90, Club Tropicana, Careless Whisper and more, this show will not disappoint.  Tickets cost £24 and are selling fast so get in quick for this one!

Get ready for that ‘Perfect 10’ when The South hit the stage on August 15. Celebrating their 10-year anniversary, and the 30th anniversary of Song for Whoever, The South are back with a UK tour.

The South are an impressive nine-piece band featuring former members of The Beautiful South, including Alison Wheeler and Gaz Birtles, and will bring back the full flavour and arrangements of The Beautiful South. Audiences will be able to see all the classic songs performed live including A Little Time, Perfect 10, Rotterdam, Old Red Eyes is Back, Good as Gold and Don’t Marry Her. Tickets for The South are £25.

There’s much more to choose from including Herman’s Hermits, The D Day Darlings (limited tickets available), comedy with Gary Delaney, The Fureys, TRextasy, Only Fools and Boycie, Bringing on Back the ‘60s, An Evening with Aggers, The Best of Queen and Black Country icon Doreen.
