Jack Savoretti

Acoustic singer and songwriter, Jack Savoretti, just released his eighth album last week – Europiana Encore – and visits Tamworth in the middle of a busy schedule of performances across the UK and Europe, including sell out shows.

Jack’s sixth studio album Singing to Strangers was his first number one album in the UK Albums Chart and his seventh, Europiana, released in June last year, became his second UK number one album. Europiana Encore features an additional six new tracks.

Jack said: “Europiana isn’t a sound. It’s references and inspirations and the emotions they evoke. It’s the music of my childhood summers, remade for today. It’s apparent which artists and eras inspired us, just as it was obvious Oasis loved The Beatles, but the music is modern not a pastiche.”

The album mixes riviera glamour and Italian elegance, evoking the feeling of golden beaches, endless azure skies, piano bars and sunsets.

The singer once performed a cover of When You’re Gone by Bryan Adams and Melanie C and sang it in front of Melanie C live in the studio on Zoe Ball’s Breakfast Show.

Melanie C

The legendary Spice Girl herself has been confirmed as the special guest for the concert in Tamworth on August 12.

The Spice Girls’ iconic debut single Wannabe topped the charts in 37 countries, with their debut album selling more than 31 million copies worldwide to become the best-selling album of all time by a female group. They went on to sell more than 85 million records and win a host of awards, including a BRIT for Outstanding Contribution to British Music.

Melanie C’s collaboration with Bryan Adams was her first solo venture and since then she has sold more than three million albums, including two number one singles and six top 10s with tracks such as I Turn to You, Never be the Same Again and First Day of My Life.

Her self-titled album released in 2020 was her eighth studio album, hailed as her most ‘life-affirming, attitude-packed album to date’, including tracks Who I Am, Blame It On and In And Out of Love. Sonically inspired by spending several months touring Pride parades with the LGBTQ+ collective Sink the Pink, it’s a celebration of self, an album of arms aloft anthems of self-acceptance.

Melanie said: “It’s only after I’ve finished a record that I can step back and see what I’ve written about. A lot of these songs are me looking back over my life, both personal and professional. We’re always so busy striving to achieve that we rarely take the time to reflect on what we’ve already done.”

Tickets for this fabulous summer concert will go on sale on Saturday, May 28th via Ticketmaster.

They will be priced at £37.50 for adults, £27.50 for youths (10-17) with a full paying adult and under 9s free, although a ticket is still required. Family tickets (two adults, two youths) are priced at £115.
