First-time ever Comedy and Curry night at Tamworth Assembly Rooms
Get your tastebuds tingling for a spicy and exciting evening as Tamworth Assembly Rooms presents a comedy and curry night for the first-time ever.
Partnering up with Mortified Comedy, the Assembly Rooms will be providing fun and entertainment to audiences in a unique cabaret setting with three top-of-the-range comedians, making it an evening to remember.
Headlining the one-night comedy fest on Friday, May 27, Dan Renton Skinner’s stage character – Angelos Epithemiou – will attempt to break into showbusiness after he had his burger van trailer burnt to the ground.
Having starred in BBC2’s Shooting Stars, Dave’s One Night Stand and Channel 4’s The Angelos Epithemiou Show, Skinner’s creation is set to take a giant leap into the spotlight in this shambolic, weird and wonderful show.
Dan, a critically acclaimed performer, brings with him a resume of blockbuster films to his name such as The Spy Who Dumped Me, High Rise, and Swallows and Amazons for BBC Films as well as TV serial classics like The Tracey Ullman Show, Friday Night Dinner, and The Wrong Mans.
Before Epithemiou takes to the Assembly Rooms stage, Welsh stand-up comedian Jenny Collier – a regular on the club and festival circuit across the UK and around the world – will crack some of her amazing jokes leaving visitors slapping their chairs in laughter.
The sharp-tongued, multi-lingual Jenny has mastered the art of deftly welcoming her audiences into a false sense of security with her lilting Welsh twang, before taking a dramatic U-turn with her outrageously raw punchlines.
Audiences will be squirming in their seats, head in their hands and wanting more as Jenny’s crafted, confident and in command performances are a favourite at clubs and festivals everywhere.
Completing the line-up is Liverpool-born Callum Oakley – who broke into the comedy scene at 14 and at 16, was thrust into the spotlight when he reached the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent.
The comedian with Indian heritage has become a constant face in the UK comedy circuit, regularly appearing at Hot Water Comedy Club. Callum recently provided support for Paul Smith on his two UK tours and has also spread his wings and ventured overseas performing in Amsterdam, Cyprus and Australia where he appeared at the iconic Sydney Comedy Store.
Enjoy the comedy night with a delicious and tasty Indian menu with orders being taken at your table.
