NHS staff offered free tickets to see Music from the Movies performed by Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra

As a thank you to local NHS workers, Tamworth Borough Council are offering 2,000 free tickets to see the fantastic ‘Music from the Movies’ performed by Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra plus Russell Watson and The Overtones on the 23 July in Tamworth’s beautiful Castle Grounds.
Those attending will be entertained and hear classics from favourite movies performed by the orchestra – who rarely perform outside of London. With a play list that includes favourite tunes from Indiana Jones, Superman, ET, Game of Thrones and of course Harry Potter, the night is sure to be incredible.
This concert is part of Tamworth Borough Council’s Castle Summer Fest, which is a huge three-week event bringing a variety of sports and entertainment to the grounds between July 20 and August 13.
Cllr Robert Pritchard, Deputy Leader of Tamworth Borough Council, said: “This is our gift as a thank you to local NHS staff in appreciation for their hard work and dedication throughout the pressures they faced during the pandemic.
“We know many others have also given so much over the last two years, and we’ve made tickets available too for schools, community groups and local clubs.
“As a gift to the people of the town, we also have a free Queen tribute concert performed by Magic Queen to celebrate the Queen’s Baton Relay on 20 July.
“We’re aiming to go all out this summer, after a couple of years of not being able to hold events. So, let’s gather in the Castle Grounds this summer and celebrate.”
Free NHS tickets for the ‘Music from the Movies’ performed by Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra plus Russell Watson and The Overtones are limited to the first 2,000 people. To avoid missing out, NHS staff are asked to visit Tamworth Borough Council’s Arts and Events Box Office at the Assembly Rooms, Corporation Street, Tamworth with their NHS ID in advance to secure a free ticket. Any non-NHS staff will need a ticket to attend the gig. Children nine and under go free, but will need a ticket. All tickets available from Tamworth Borough Council’s Arts and Events Box Office.
Alternatively, if claiming a free ticket ‘on the door’ NHS staff are asked to enter the Castle Grounds via the Castle Gate House entrance near Nationwide Bank, Market Street Tamworth with their NHS ID. Free tickets will only be given to individuals with their own personal NHS ID. General tickets are also available to buy ‘on the door’ at the Castle Gate House on the day.
At 10percent discount is also available for this gig and others through the Blue Light discount scheme.
The family-friendly Castle Summer Fest has something for everyone to enjoy; with activities and entertainment including the Queen’s Baton relay, live broadcast of the Commonwealth Games, three large concerts featuring global singing stars, live music shows, tribute bands, screenings, broadcasts, a whole host of sports events and demonstrations, the UK’s largest inflatable obstacle course, a 5K fun run and an attempt to break the world piggyback record you are sure to find plenty to of things to do.
