Award-winning Jungle Book adaptation set for Tamworth park
An award-winning adaptation of classic tale The Jungle Book will be brought to life in a Tamworth park this spring in the first instalment of outdoor theatre to feature in the town’s 2016 calendar of events.
Tamworth’s Misnomer Theatre – a spin-off from the popular Tamworth Pantomime Company – will be bringing its own version of the story to the Castle Grounds for an evening performance on Saturday June 18 at 6pm.

Hundreds don their trainers for Tamworth Sport Relief Mile
Hundreds of runners, walkers and joggers donned their trainers and got on their marks for the Tamworth Sport Relief Mile held in the Castle Grounds on Sunday March 20.
The Tamworth contingent was made up of more than 200 people of all ages who joined thousands of runners taking part in similar events across the country for the biennial Sport Relief fundraising challenge.

Tamworth Borough Council’s Arts and Events team has unveiled its biggest ever programme of outdoor events, promising an exciting jam-packed year of fun activities for the whole family.
The 2016 calendar includes the return of all the popular favourites, such as St George’s Day celebrations, outdoor cinema, We Love Tamworth, Fireworks and Christmas lights switch-on, as well as some fantastic new events.

Guides and scouts from across Tamworth ensured that Tamworth Assembly Rooms went out with a bang as the curtain closed to rapturous applause for the last time until the theatre’s modern new look is revealed.
The 2016 Tamworth Gang Show took place over four nights with more than 1,200 people enjoying the production across the near sell-out performances of comedy, music and pyrotechnics each day.
