Tamworth’s fourth outdoor cinema event was a resounding success with sell-out crowds enjoying an evening of singing, dancing and entertainment under the stars in the Castle Grounds.

This year’s screenings of Dirty Dancing and The Lost Boys on Saturday August 13 both sold out within just a week of going on sale, giving 1,300 lucky people the chance to watch classic movies shown on a big screen in the great outdoors.

The countdown is on to the popular We Love Tamworth event which will bring wall-to-wall family fun to Tamworth Castle Grounds on Saturday September 3, marking the perfect end to the summer holidays.

A highlight in the town’s annual calendar of events, We Love Tamworth boasts a jam-packed programme of entertainment, including fairground rides, stalls, games, inflatables, Tamworth’s strongest man competition, a dog show, Amington Brass Band and much more.

Award-winning Jungle Book adaptation set for Tamworth park

An award-winning adaptation of classic tale The Jungle Book will be brought to life in a Tamworth park this spring in the first instalment of outdoor theatre to feature in the town’s 2016 calendar of events.

Tamworth’s Misnomer Theatre – a spin-off from the popular Tamworth Pantomime Company – will be bringing its own version of the story to the Castle Grounds for an evening performance on Saturday June 18 at 6pm.

Performers sought to entertain at new Elford Garden Party

Performers across all genres are being offered the opportunity to showcase their talents in beautiful surroundings at an end of summer garden party event being organised by Tamworth Borough Council’s Arts & Events team.

The Garden Party takes place in the historic and picturesque setting of Elford Hall Garden in the village of Elford on September 17, inviting families to enjoy a relaxed afternoon of entertainment while giving Tamworth artists the chance to perform in an unusual space.
