If you’re aged 12 to 19 and love to ‘jam’ but you’re not sure how to take your talents to the next level, then look no further.
Tamworth Jam is an exciting new project to help budding musicians develop their song writing, musicianship, performance and promotion skills before taking their music onto the streets and ‘unusual spaces’ of Tamworth.
Generous Tamworth runners and walkers raise £4,400 for Sport Relief
The Sport Relief Mile, which saw more than 200 people pull on their trainers and run or walk through the Castle Grounds, raised £4,433.67 for the charity Sport Relief.
Tamworth’s contribution went towards making up a record-breaking grand total of £72.5 million across the country. The money raised will help disadvantaged people in the UK and some of the poorest communities in the world.

WW1 fundraising concert will feature new song for Tamworth
Choirs, performers and a poet from the Tamworth area will be coming together to stage a special fundraising memorial concert in St Editha’s Church to mark the centenary of World War One.
We Will Remember takes place on November 12 and is the first event in the new Art in Unusual Spaces programme, which has been made possible by a £68,000 grant from Arts Council England.

Art in all its forms will be popping up in some unusual spaces across Tamworth over the next two years as part of a major project designed to create and nurture new audiences ready for the opening of the new look Tamworth Assembly Rooms.
Art in Unusual Spaces has been made possible after Tamworth Borough Council’s Arts & Events team successfully won £68,000 in funding from Arts Council England – the third significant grant to be secured by the team in recent years. Funding is being matched by Tamworth Borough Council and the local community.

Outdoor cinema a hit again as sell-out crowds enjoy top films
Tamworth’s fourth outdoor cinema event was a resounding success with sell-out crowds enjoying an evening of singing, dancing and entertainment under the stars in the Castle Grounds.
This year’s screenings of Dirty Dancing and The Lost Boys on Saturday August 13 both sold out within just a week of going on sale, giving 1,300 lucky people the chance to watch classic movies shown on a big screen in the great outdoors.
